Moving to a new Raspberry Pi? Reset your device lock so you can activate on your new hardware. No charge.

Reset Device Lock

Enter the name, email, and PIN you used when you purchased. This unlocks your license from the current Pi so you can activate it on a new one. You are allowed up to 5 resets over the lifetime of your license.

What happens when you reset

Device lock cleared — your license is no longer tied to the old Pi's hardware fingerprint.

Activate on new Pi — open vaino-server.local:5000 on your new device and enter your license key. It will lock to the new hardware.

Reset counter — each reset uses one of your 5 lifetime resets. Annual limit: 3 per 12-month period.

Same license key — your key doesn't change. Find it in your original purchase confirmation email.

Common questions

I lost my PIN — what do I do?

The PIN cannot be recovered (it is never stored on our servers — it is used as part of a one-way key derivation). Contact support with your purchase receipt and we can help.

Do I need to reinstall the Pi image?

Only if you're replacing the microSD card too. If you're just moving to a different Pi and re-flashing anyway, yes — use the image from your purchase email. Then activate with the same key.

What if my old Pi was destroyed or stolen?

A reset clears the old device association — the old Pi cannot check in once you activate elsewhere, because the fingerprint no longer matches. You're safe to proceed.

I hit the 5-reset lifetime limit.
